Freshers' Ball! First black-tie event since school started. Everyone was dressed up to the nines so it was quite nice, and it was held in a really big club- about 4 storeys! I was kind of looking forward to it for the whole day, and I think I was a little disappointed. Shouldn't anticipate too much next time. First, the music. Techno, and mambo music, like Zouk's mambo nights. ?@#$! There were say, 2 RnB songs? Everyone else seemed to be dancing quite happily to that though. (Everything is fun with alcohol I guess.) Second, for like an hour or so there was a live band- with an Elvis Presley lookalike frontman. I wanted to cringe on his behalf. The songs were okay, it was just the whole get up that was off putting. And he went "Everyone, take the hand of the person next to you, and look into their eyes. Remember, you all are very special. You are not LSE... and you are not Kings... you are U-C-fucking-L!!" Um, duh?!

Seems like I've been complaining loads. Well to be fair it was really quite alright, mostly because of the company. Oh and I think this is quite cool- I met a guy who's dad is the Korean ambassador to Italy! So he studied in Rome and has a special diplomatic passport! Haha, fine, cheap thrill.

Had to wake up freaking early for lecture today and I don't know why everyone else seems to cope fine with 4 hours of sleep or less. I was half stoned. I think I'm coming down with something so I've been frantically downing cups of herbal tea.

By the way I just wanted to mention that I've been getting along very well with my russian and german flatmates. Should never be too quick to judge people, because I initially was quite reserved thanks to the stereotype that russians and germans are drunkards. They're both really funny guys though, and surprisingly we can talk about loads of things from British girls to Vladimir Putin. Pictures soon.
